Life & Death

Posted by: mohans

Tagged in: Untagged

Life after death cannot be proved scientifically. Science does not understand how the mind works. There is no mechanism for how the brain can generate thoughts let alone how consciousness could come about.  Brain cells do not give us thoughts and consciousness.  Having a soul may explain the phenomenon of Life after death. We are conscious of our existence. We are  conscious of our mortality or immortality. We have very high level of consciousness. We  all have some part of our brain, which makes us think & some part which stops us from thinking. Universal consciousness is the source of energy or power that allowed the universe's creation and the life in it.

We all know Energy or Matter can never be created or destroyed but can only be  transformed. Consciousness is a form of energy, which  cannot be destroyed but may be transformed.

We know everything is made of energy. Everything, including life, is the result of this energy. Scientists such as Schneider and Sagan have successfully shown how the flow of energy creates life.

We may have different bodies with similar brains and with  similar number of nerves, but  we have different  character and personality. Our character cannot be easily seen or  described. Nothing in this world dies & the portion of our life which does not exist can never  die. Matter always exists in some form or other. Matter  never dies .but it may change form.

Purpose of our life is about helping energy flow, spread and balance. God has given us precious gift for assisting energy flow. I feel if we have a choice between Life & death then we must pick up life as by doing this we are helping Universal Conscious to ensure energy flow. Life is not meaningless. God has given us the life to  use it in a right way.

We must have experienced that someone whom we had never met & who is a totally stranger to us, at times appear very familiar & friendly. We  keep remembering him or her. We always  like that person's presence. Communication with one stranger is always pleasant, while  communication with another stranger is really difficult and irritating. The reason of this is that we  carry the imprints of our past life. This is because of our earlier birth's relationship. If we were very close to someone and that person has taken re-birth when we have taken birth again then as and when we meet him, we would be developing our liking towards him. Similarly vice verse. People who make more friends in their  present life would definitely spread love all around them. If we show kindness to all we will get  it back in next life. We are  living in multidimensional life with  multidimensional thoughts and multidimensional  knowledge

The idea of disappearing into a state of complete non-existence after death scares many people. There is nothing scary about this. Death is definitely not the worst thing in life as distance  between Life & death  is very fine line ie a  breath.  Sufferings and Pains only are worst in life and God has given us a Choice. God has given us a mind to attach or detach from worldly events.  Sufferings are therefore caused by our ignorance & ignorance is caused by our ego. Ego is the free will & free will goes beyond our death as these sufferings only go to our  next life also. Death gives momentarily pain to us & people around us. Our actions arising out of  any evil, has far reaching ramifications on  self as well as the whole world and we must avoid evil as we are accountable to Universal Conscious for our actions.

Happiness - A State of Mind or A state of Choice

Posted by: mohans

Tagged in: Untagged

In our journey of life we may get success & Failures. If we regularly get success only,  we  shall  not have any pleasure of getting success.  Success and failures are must for a meaningful life. Life is a pack of different events like happiness, sorrow, challenges, revenge, fight, enjoyment, Luck etc. etc. We must take life as it comes considering it as a  beautiful journey in which we come across many people and many events. Our role in life is that of an event manager. For example at times attachment with an event gives us happiness while other times detachment from a event may give  us happiness. Definition of Life changes  from person to person, from time to time as  Our priorities are different in different stages of life. For example very small achievement of life may give us happiness when we are young.  For some people life is money and money gives them happiness & for some  achievement of inner happiness & contentment is the priority. However we must  learn something from each event as these past events may turn out to be rich experience in our life.

When we laugh the world laughs with us. But  when we cry  we cry alone. So this is our duty to be happy & we must know 'sorrow is the absence of happiness just  like cold, which  is nothing but the absence of heat. Happiness is a feeling which makes us  feel cheerful.  Happiness is a choice, a state of mind & not a state of being.  We may  find happiness in small events of life. Money cannot buy us happiness.  We can enjoy happiness & feel  good about it , if we didn't have some sadness so that we may  compare and contrast it. There can not be  any "happiness" without some sadness!

People who can feel 'happiness even if they are in  Hell, to them this world is  really a happy world. There may be some unfortunate events that happen to some people in life. Such events may  cause irreparable sorrow for the rest of their  life. These events may completely change  life of a person. But in spite of these events people who maintain their cheer then we consider such type of  happiness by Choice.  If a person maintains cheer in spite of stressful situations then he is genius. Such people are considered above happiness & Sorrow.

However  for some people dealing with illness (mental or physical) can never be pleasant. However if a person chooses to maintain cheer  then the  happiness again may be a choice for him God has a plan for each and every one of us. God expects us to deal with the situation perfectly.   God wants us to learn some sort of acceptance or contentment in whatever situation or circumstance that occurs in our lives.  Daily life can be made happier. It is a matter of choice. It is our attitude that makes us feel happy or unhappy. It is true, we meet all kinds of situations during the day, and some of them may not be conductive to happiness. We may also  choose to keep thinking about the unhappy events, and we can choose to refuse to think about them, and instead, relish the happy moments. All of us constantly go through various situations and circumstances, but we do not have to let these situations  influence our reactions and feelings. If we let outer events influence our moods, we become their slaves. We lose our freedom. We let our happiness be determined by outer forces. On the other hand, we can free ourselves from outer influences. We can choose to be happy, and we can do a lot to add happiness to our lives.

Happiness  is a feeling of inner peace and satisfaction. It is usually experienced when there are no worries, fears or obsessing thoughts, and this usually happens, when we do something we love to do or when we get, win, gain or achieve something that we value. It seems to be the outcome of positive events, but it actually comes from the inside, triggered by outer events. One of the best ways to keep cheer, is by gaining inner peace through meditation. As the mind becomes more peaceful, it becomes easier to choose happiness.

Some ways to find happiness in life:

1. Stop comparing yourself with others

2. Always be grateful to God for Happy Events of life.

3. Find your inner voice

4. Reconnect with your childhood dreams

5. Help someone

6. Spend more time with your loved ones

8. Appreciate beauty of nature

9. Pray or meditate

10. Smile & maintain cheer

13. Listen more than you speak

14. Stop judging others

15. Forgive yourself

16. Forgive others

17. Accept yourself as you are .....

Presence of Mind

Presence of Mind

Without presence of mind, intelligence is a waste.

We must know the Answers of following prior to application of  “ Presence of Mind”
 How ?  Where ?  When ?

The reason for this is that Intelligence is a key factor to decide whether our actions are right or Wrong. Answers to these questions provide necessary information/intelligence.  Any  person with “presence of mind” can handle/tackle any problem/ sensitive situation. As we are aware “Presence of Mind” means how we react to particular situation.  There fore we must understand the phenomenon of the Day to Day stresses in Life ie Time Stress, Situational Stress & Instantaneous Stress. Once we understand the stress component of any particular situation, We shall have better information to tackle the situation. However alertness is another  important component, which is essential for tackling problem.

As we all are aware our mind tend to travel away from where we are physically present. With this, we tend to lack awareness of the particular situation and we loose  'presence of mind'. We must improve our awareness & visualisation skills.

Hindu Spiritual Gurus recommend breath awareness as a possible grip to maintain the 'presence of mind' !  Breath Awareness definitely  enhance our alertness skills.

We must be aware of on going moments & our mind should be free from strong emotions or Guilt ie we should have calm mind.  We must clear our mind of useless agendas and fears.

Our conscious & sub  conscious mind generally turns upon itself only & comes to vicious circle of some negative thoughts. The negative thoughts  keep our mind  always occupied.

Even if we don’t have any problem or we  have no obstacle or no situation, the thought process  comes back to the source of our mind.  The mind does what it has to do. It thinks  non stop. Mind is always busy with wandering thoughts. We have to control all negative thoughts.  Meditating or focusing on deep breathing helps us, settle the mind & improve our  presence of mind..

Following are few  simple truths.

1        Everything in this world undergo change &  nothing is constant

2        Every Cause has an Effect

3        Our Life is both physical and non-physical ie Our Body, Our Mind Our   Consciousness

4       Our  actions  are being watched by Super Consciousness

If we are aware of these truths then we can  react to each stressful situation more effectively.

Gautama Buddha:  The master's function is to help you remember who you are. You are not part of this mundane world. Your home is the home of the divine. You are lost in forgetfulness. You have forgotten the most important part that keeps you alive.  'Breathe'. God is hidden inside you. You never look inside because everybody looks outside, you also go on looking outside.

Subconscious Mind

Subconscious Mind

The term subconscious is used in many different contexts and has no single or precise definition. The Subconscious mind is a force that can only be recognized by its effects & its symptom. Subconscious is  an area of the psyche to which ideas would be consigned through a process that involved a "splitting" of the mind and a restriction of the field of consciousness. There are two files in our mind. One is “Temporary Memory” and other one is “Permanent Memory”.
Whatever we want to  remember for the time being, it will be recorded in temporary memory and the data which we want to remember always, is stored in permanent memory. This permanent memory, is called subconscious mind. Conscious mind  decides whether particular act is good or bad.  All the strong desires that we want to attain unconsciously or consciously goes into our subconscious mind. But
Subconscious Mind  has no capacity to differentiate between good and bad. Normal person cannot control over Subconscious Mind.
The subconscious mind is connected with super conscious or universal mind, where all thoughts of all human being are recorded.
Say If we want to realise God, we must go on repeat thinking about it, then it goes to subconscious mind, it starts acting according to our wish. If we wish to  control the subconscious mind, then we  should have a calm mind through meditation & Pooja & clean our  mind from negative thoughts. We find that positive  thoughts are being retained while mind clears negative thoughts. Slowly our subconscious mind shall be empty or shall be left with  a  few positive thoughts. And we find that  we have controlled our  subconscious mind. Miracles may start happening there after.

The subconscious mind takes in everything we learn and experience in our lifetime. It begins at birth , soaking up information, accumulating data as we grow and experience life. It also begins forming beliefs based on what we learn and what we experience, which determines how we react to everything in our life.

Most of our choices, our  actions and thoughts have their origin in subconscious mind. All the conscious choices we make are  amassed in our subconscious mind.  .

Our mind can create wonderful things for us & has incredible power. True ideas from sub conscious mind are those that are from the part within us that is more divine, vast and is enlightened.

To sum up

We must Check our thoughts, as these thoughts may become our words tomorrow (through our subconscious mind). We must check our Words, as these Words may become our  Actions (through our subconscious mind). We must check our Actions, as these actions may become our habits (through our subconscious mind). We must check our habits as these habits may become our character (through our conscious mind ). We must check our character as Character makes our Destiny.

Consciousness

Mind can only be imagined as a thinking process, Brain is a visible part, which controls our Body while Mind is invisible. Healthy Brain produces healthy thoughts & therefore healthy mind.  if we are in good mood or mind,  we will have positive thinking process.

Even when human  Brain is partially in active or dead,  a person may have positive thinking process ie Positive Mind. The reason is attributable to the fact that the  thinking process can not be assigned to a particular part of Brain or brain-spine system. The body and the brain are both components of the physical reality that create consciousness.

Every thing visible is creation of consciousness. Brain & mind are the origin of consciousness. Consciousness is something unique and separate from any physical organ. Consciousness may be defined as that aspect of ourselves, that enables us to be aware of ourselves and other reality. Various aspects of consciousness are: Perception, existence, conception and knowing. Perception may be defined as that aspect of consciousness that enables us to localize stimuli acting on us through our senses. Existence may be defined as that aspect of consciousness that enables us to be aware of realities separate from ourselves. Knowing may be defined as that aspect of consciousness that enables us to categorize phenomenon. Conception may be defined as that aspect of consciousness that enables us to see the relationship between cause and effect.
Mind may be defined as the totality of sums of consciousness called will and understanding.
Will may be defined as the receptacle of sums of consciousness called action, love, charity, doing, etc.
Understanding may be defined as the receptacle of sums of consciousness called wisdom, intelligence, faith, light, thought, etc.   Consciousness is not an innate aspect of matter (in this case, the brain). The brain therefore, is the physical instrument the non-physical mind uses as an individual plays whatever role in his/her environment
Mind is an emotional component that decides what the intellect analyses and presents to it. For an emotionally matured person the difference between mind and intellect is almost nil, rather they are in total harmony. They develop the rare knack of convincing people to do their bidding, according to their considered opinion.

Mind is the final decider of our actions. Great men of wisdom, at times had been  carried away by Mind just due to emotional impulses despite their great wisdom.

Distinct ways of Thinking Process of Human Mind

Posted by: mohans

Tagged in: Untagged

We all are aware that, every human has the potential to elevate his thinking to a very high level.  We can put away anger, fear and conflict, and  build a world around us with full of Love, trust and co-operation.

We know that every human mind has two distinct ways of thinking processes. Human intelligence develops within these two distinct and powerful ways of thinking process.

Sometimes these different thinking processes create conflict and mental anguish. However if these thinking processes work together in  harmony, then the qualities of effective intelligence & reasoning ability develop. Power of expression due these distinct thinking processes produce brilliance and genius. Our thinking processes are related to Space & Time. Thinking process related to Space moves around  three dimensional space while the thinking processes related to time can analyze much more because this is the only process which makes us to live in present on going moments of life. This process alerts us to act in time to control different events. We know Past is different than the Present, which is different than the future. The moments of our lives are a one way street. By noticing the changes that occur over time, the mind has the ability to analyze  things perfectly. We can anticipate events with this thinking process and  develop ability to predict and control events.

Note: When we have positive thoughts which are synchronised with on going moments of life then tremendous positive energy is developed while Negative thoughts produce Negative Energy.

Positive thoughts with Positive Physical Actions during On going Moments of life  produce Synergy.

Good Manners & Etiquettes

Good Manners & Etiquettes are the positive traits which ensure a child’s social success. No child is born with good mannerism. Parents have the responsibility to teach  Good Manners & Etiquettes to their children. Every individual on this earth need respect.  Parents must give respect to Children so that the children learn to respect others. Parents must not indulge in speaking bad language or  street talk, or  use of dirty words. Mannerism is a way of behaving in a socially correct way which is acceptable to Community.

Good manners are the first mark of good breeding and reflect directly on a person’s upbringing. Good Mannerism cares the prevailing customs, social conduct, and norms of a specific society. Mannerism means --- being polite --  considering sentiments of  people around us. Mannerism  is a way to get along in society while moral is doing what you know and feel right. We must teach our children to listen and obey elders. When they are at School, they must behave like a good student ie as a  sincere, studious, and regular student. When at  outdoor,  the child is taught how to approach  others  and how to get involved  in team work. Children should be taught to not to  stick their  hands in mouth, ears etc.

Some common examples of Bad mannerism are  cited below:

1. Habit of interrupting others while talking without waiting for the other person to finish.

2. Habit of leading a conversation, into arguments, instead of mutual respect and “agreeing to disagree” kind of approach.

 3. Habit of putting down others  and commenting on their dress, hair, moods and just about everything personal, without any regard or respect for their individuality and choices.

4. Acute lack of social etiquettes in public places: some of them readily observable are:  talking in high decibels without concern for other people’s disturbances

Meditation-- On Going Moments

Posted by: mohans

Tagged in: Untagged

Meditation cleans the mind and makes it calm and quiet. Once our  mind is Clean, our health gets automatically  improved. Major reason of improvement of health is attributable to the fact that the major quantum of vital body energy wasted in unproductive  mind activities is used for body repairs during meditation.

For an ideal meditation to take place,  there are three steps 1. Remember God by chanting several times  Om or Ram or hari om or --------------
2. Sit quietly & ask for blessings from the almighty with the feelings of love gratitude & appreciation

3. Take five deep breaths

Once we concentrate our thoughts for long time, the thoughts coming in our mind will reduce. We must  focus our mind on the present on going moments. On going moments meditation improves our mood, decreases our stress/anxiety, boosts our immune function, helps us to  see life as it really is and helps us to cultivate mindfulness, wisdom, compassion, patience, and loving-kindness. We should find a quiet and comfortable place. & put aside all thoughts of the past and the future and stay in the present moments.

We should feel our  breathing & focus on the sensation of air moving in and out of our body as we breathe & at the same time watching  every thought that come and go through our mind ie all thoughts  whether they are associated with worry, fear, anxiety or hope. When thoughts come up in our mind, We must not  ignore or suppress them but simply note them, remain calm and focus on our breathing

We may find occasions when we  find our self getting carried away in our thoughts, We must watch those moments when our mind went off  and simply return to our breathing.

We must practice on going moment meditation for at least  ten to fifteen minutes every day.

Courage & Fear

Posted by: mohans

Tagged in: Untagged

Courage is about standing up for your beliefs without hesitating to face the consequences. It takes will power and strong beliefs to face challenges with optimism and a positive attitude in mind. Great heroes show courage to stand up for a noble cause and for high morals.

·        Courage is about fighting against things that are immoral and injustice even    if you know that people are not going to support you.

·        Courage is when you have to swim against the tide, knowing that anything could happen to you.

·        Courage is giving up your happiness and pleasures for others.

·        Courage is about accepting your fears

·        Courage is being able to admit that u have mistakes and u r not perfect

·        Courage is about facing difficulties without doubting your strengths

·       Courage is believing in yourselves even when the world doesn't.

An action is courageous if it is an attempt to achieve success  despite difficulties. Difficulties generally deter people from their objectives. Similarly a state such as cheerfulness is courageous, if it is sustained in spite of such difficulties. A courageous person is characteristically able to attempt such actions or maintain such states. courage is dependent on sound judgment, for it needs to be known whether the end justifies the risk incurred. Similarly, courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to feel the appropriate amount of fear.

Courage is a   mean between timidity and overconfidence. This is the quality of mind which enables us to encounter danger and difficulties with firmness, or without fear, or fainting of heart; valor; boldness; resolution. fearlessness is often regarded as synonymous with courage, there is some value in distinguishing it from a particular view of courage: the occurrence of perseverance despite fear, which is perhaps the purest form of courage. Despite frequent exposure to dangerous and stressful situations, most people acquire few lasting fears.

     Courage Quotes

     http://www.wow4u.com/couragequotes/index.html

Courage acquired from drinking liquor is known as "Dutch Courage". In 1650 Franciscus Sylvius, a Dutch doctor, created gin in an attempt to cure a range of illnesses among soldiers during the Thirty Year War by British troops and was an instant success for its calming effects before battle. This is where the phrase "Dutch Courage. After drinking individuals generally get false sense of security, which may be due to hypoxia ie lack of Oxygen & Concentration of alcohol. in blood stream.

Courage does not mean absence of fear. Fear is an emotional response to any perceived threat & the symptoms are Rapid heart rate, Increased blood pressure, Tightening of muscles, Sharpened or redirected senses, Increased sweating etc.

Unnecessary thoughts & fears can be  stopped.  We must identify the reasons of  unnecessary thoughts & fears. It's important to regularly monitor, and deal with negative internal thoughts of mental process ie disturbing thoughts  or emotions. We must recognise negative thoughts &  challenge them  immediately. When we notice something negative we must know that this is  being generated from the negative part of our mind. Having identified it, We should challenge our mind  as forcefully as we can in a big voice (if alone) saying

“GO AWAY! GET LOST! I DO NOT CARE YOU!”

And let our mind get tuned to optimistic side of thoughts by focussing on our positive achievement of life

Emotional Intelligence can effectively inoculate against Depression. We all are aware that cases of  depression have skyrocketed since last several decades.

Depression is a horrible, life-destroying state of health. Good emotional intelligence is the only way to over come depression especially at work place. Emotional difficulties have been  climbing exponentially. With the right emotional intelligence skills, We may control anxiety, panic, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorders, anger, emotions.

Life can be made highly enjoyable with good emotional intelligence. We can  enjoy our work more, get more from our personal and professional relationships and progress  at work.

Emotional intelligence refers to developing successfully, and realizing our potential we not only need to build on our strengths but also work on our weaknesses, particularly thought patterns and emotions that can impair our ability to manage future challenges and hardships we will encounter. This is  ability to perceive emotion, integrate emotion to facilitate thought, understand emotions, and to regulate emotions to promote personal growth. If something happens in one's life which is of great importance and unforgettable, that may culminate into emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and others!!!. Emotional Intelligence is therefore the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and others. Emotional Intelligence is “the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one's thinking and actions
The following are some of the key characteristics of emotional intelligence:

 1. Emotional awareness: the ability to notice our feelings and as they occur.

 2. Resience: the ability to sooth ourselves, to move out of , or bounce back from, states of distress by being able to "take time out", to stop, "cool off" and recompose.

  3. Self-control: the ability to control self gratification and persist with goals despite setbacks and upsets; for example, commitment to, and persistence in, pursuing longer-term goals.
